Chinese, Japanese, Dogs

Inspired by food:

Sketches for a food article focusing on the differences between Chinese and Japanese restaurants - Alhambra Source.

One of my dreams is to get a motorcycle with sidecar, get a dog, and go on a long ride across the states. I will name her Simone and she will be beautiful.

7 things to look at

Rivals of the West Theatre Company - 2012 Spring Season - Call for Auditions

This is one of few hand-lettered projects I've come up with. Christopher Shipley is the muse.

Spread from my Summer sketchbook. There are my characters, Zuba and June.

Katamari Stampede - Concept Art with Aaron Yamada-Hanff

A piece I came up with and did last year in my concept art class. It is a Katamari Damacy scene.

This is something I should have mentioned a while ago- probably before the event. This show was titled HOLY SHIT by The Nomad Gallery Project. It was a huge success and I owe thanks to Craig Bowers for his help on the poster below and thanks to Nomad for letting me design material for the event.

And here is the back of the postcard:

Lastly we have another assignment for the Alhambra Source, an article on mental health services in the Alhambra school district:

You can find the article here:

EXTRA EXTRA - See All About It

Many moons have passed since the last post. Here is to catching up! :

CENTERSTAGE - Young Playwrights Festival 2012

These are preliminary sketches (Call For Entries Poster) for the 26th Annual YPF

This is a drawing of an armored Chinese boat from the... Sung Dynasty? Anyhow, this is rolled in with my thesis - I am working on a series that features the presentation of interior spaces in close relationship to exterior spaces - I will show you soon exactly what I mean.

Here we have the first page for my contribution to DIMENSIONS III a comic anthology pulled together by Zejian Shen (http://zesansan.blogspot.com/). If you like comics, check her out. If you like good comics, then check her out. If you like bad comics, then don't.

This is an old one, from last year. Jesus in a pool of blood. This showed in Nomad Gallery (http://www.facebook.com/BmoreNoMad) for the SURFACE show this past July. Jesus is being sold now in the form of fine prints (edition of 7), archival Velvet Art paper. Each print is 16"x16" and they are going for $50 each. Does your mother love Jesus? Your grandmother? Well, you know where to find me (jeeshaun@ymail.com).

Lastly we have the twins. This was an illustration for an article on reunited twin sisters in the Alhambra Source by Michael Lawrence. If you are interested in the words of a good man see here: http://www.alhambrasource.org/users/firing-line

There are more drawings slithering around in my room, but I need to round them up before I hang them up here.

What did you have for dinner two nights ago?

Skinny Fat

from the Mary Albright summer 2011 sketchbook. Inside cover:

A supermodel I think. I can't remember where or how I found her but here is a drawing of her. If anyone has any clue of her identity , please let me know.

Yelena Bryksenkova inspired me to draw more women. She has also inspired me in terms of patterns, clothing, fashion illustration, and all things Russia.

If you do not know who she is look here: http://yelenabryksenkova.com/

If you are hungry look here, it is a picture of one of my favorite foods,Pho Noodles:
