Quasi-Chinese, Pseudo-American

What happens to me when I'm in Los Angeles is I end up eating a lot of asian food, working odd jobs with my father, and trying to hang out with as many people as possible but failing to do so.

For the past few weeks I have been feverishly working with my father to clean out the house we have lived in for the past 14 or so years while working on electrician-esque projects at the local Hilton where my father also plays piano two nights a week. I have been speaking a lot of bad mandarin and eating all the Hilton mints which I can get my hands on.

I have noticed the abrupt shortage of illustrative posts amongst my peers and it pains me.

Well, okay, it doesn't pain me, I just start to feel bad for some reason.

So here is my contribution:

Its supposed to be a clock guy who is always late because I guess then its more ironic that way.

Here are some things I made that I didn't feel like sharing but somebody convinced me to share them so I am sharing them right now with you. They are found object assemblages as well as some small sculpture stuff made of Claytoon:

Making Stuff Up

I just finished this last night!

I have more things to say but maybe later- the monster here is outlined in gold (so imagine if you will, that he is outlined in gold).

The scan quality is pretty wonky but I will rescan it later.

Charles Duck

Here's a comic I came up with for Jonathan Fuqua's class. It is about a duck named Charles, and I guess you should look at it.

I was supposed to color it... but I didn't. I will, but when?

I used to draw comics in order to flatter pretty girls. Now I draw comics to flatter Jonathan.

The Tell Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe

So here is a triptych of images for narrative illustration class based on one of Poe's best known stories The Tell Tale Heart.

Jonathan Fuqua, my instructor, is a bearded little man who told me that I should probably put in another piece in so that the visual narrative flows better. I think he is right.

Actually I guess its not a triptych. Is it?

It is so hot today.

This piece was also for the 'places' assignment. It is supposed to be a cluttered space.

Fool's Day is Today!

This was for a recent assignment in which we had to draw settings with no use of animals or humans. This was my solution for the prompt "deadly."

Upon finishing the illustration, I had some pasta- which I think is a good way to end your illustrations sometimes.
