These were the original and altered sketches for my self-portrait. I really wanted to paint it the way I had it sketched out, but my head had to be 2 times bigger than normal... I guess some other time. The old woman is supposed to be an evil school teacher, or something stupid like that. I wanted to have a bunch of small kids behind me with tomatoes and stuff in their hands. But alas! I cannot.

DUNCE
Monday, October 27, 2008
Its cold out.
Here are two assignments from painting class. I actually taped the banana up to the kitchen wall and he stayed for a good day and a half before toppling to his demise.
oil on canvas panel
12" x 12"
oil on canvas
30" x 30"
I tried to, on some level, abstract the still life. I don't know if abstract is the word I'm looking for, but I'm guessing you get the idea?
Happy day~

Full Cast in the Main Building
We drew from the stupid cast statues in the main building. What a goofy group they are, those statues.

emma
We had to do an in-class painting of someone else in our class. Emma was my partner, and here she is. She's from the area near the Neverland Ranch in California.
Michael Jackson used to shop at the local grocery store there, she said, and the kids would always get their pictures taken with him.
And then stuff happened and now he's a hermit crab, i suppose.
